Star Trek

Star Trek premiered last Friday in theaters and I was having doubts to go watch this film since I wasn’t a ‘Trekie‘ fan nor have seen any of the franchise. I’ve read that this was also a reboot or not because of alternating the timeline.

After thinking for awhile I finally give it a go, just for fun. Me and my mom went out on a date since it was Mother’s day.

I have to say this movie was so damn good, a die hard fan or not. I thought I would be lost on the storyline but we still follow until it ends. Chris Pine was one of the reason I was having doubt about this film, I thought he was just a pretty face. I have to say he was perfect on his role as James Kirk. A lot of characters were also introduced to this film who also have great performances. The chemistry between Kirk and Spock was fun despite of their rivalry. Pavel Chekov‘s accent really brought some laughs as well as Kirk. One thing which made Star Trek as one the summer’s watch lists is the effects and CGI. All I can say is… Wow.

Overall, a fan or not, this movie will DEFINITELY entertain you. J.J. Abrams have done a great job once again. Time traveling,  alternate timeline etc., these are Abrams favorite. I wouldn’t be surprise this is where Fringe is also going.
