Giving your skin enough water is one way of keeping it looking young and healthy. But wait, you might think this is the same old “drink 8 glasses of water each day” tip that we keep hearing and reading all the time, it’s not. Although that one is indeed a good habit and really does contribute to a healthy skin, you’ll be surprised that applying water directly to your skin is actually another thing that gives the same effect.

This new discovery leads skin rejuvenating products of today to be composed of water and moisturizer. A combination of water’s hydrating power and moisturizer creates good effect to the skin for these products. That is, a moisturizer combined with water hydrates the skin by giving it moisture.

It is said that our skin’s natural aging process as well as other elements from the environment that we are exposed to takes away the water in our skin cells making it dehydrated, thus making the skin’s complexion look dull as we get older. According to dermatologist Ron Vender, founder of Dermatrials Research in Canada, keeping your skin hydrated “prevents the development of fine wrinkles and the discomfort that can occur when skin becomes dry and inflamed”.

Basic Things You Need to Stay Fit and Healthy

November 11th, 2009

Health is perhaps the most fundamental element of one’s life. What is our body but simply a minion of health. Specialists, Researchers, and Organizations has each a definition of health. But for most of us, it is simply what keeps us alive and moving. Being ill deprives you of almost anything in life; work, fun, recreations, or even friends. Surely nobody wants that.

But as the World Health Organization defines, health is not merely “the absence of disease or infirmity”. Diseases are just physical aspects. You need to put up a good mental condition before you can truly say you are a healthy human being. What you think affects your physical condition. For instance, people who find themselves in bad shape would probably resort to depriving themselves of the most important nutrients that the body needs because of an information that excessive intake of such is what makes them so. See how you’re thinking affects what you do to your body? That being said, health includes conditioning your mind with the proper information of staying fit and healthy.

Being fit and healthy is what motivates every person to do the things they want. But the hardest part perhaps is staying that way without compromising so much in life. You don’t really need to, because the basic things you need to stay fit and healthy are things that are actually just part of your daily life.

Sleep. It is the most relaxed way of staying healthy and the one that doesn’t take up any work at all to do, yet it is oftentimes the one that we hardly provide our body with. Work is mostly the reason. Well just because our body doesn’t feel it doesn’t mean our body doesn’t need it. Our body needs an average of 8-hour sleep because that’s when our body restores everything we lost or wear-out throughout the day.

Water. Not enough water intake weakens your body systems processes. But let’s face it, it’s not every couple of hours that everyone feel the need to drink water especially when you’re not really doing hyperactive works. But if you could break this habit of “not drinking water every couple of hours” every day, it’s a great relief.

Breakfast. So you all know that breakfast is the most important among everyday meals that should not be skipped. Breakfast serves as our fuel for the day so not having it before work is not a good start. For people who thinks it is good for losing weight, it is actually the opposite. Not having breakfast increases your level of bad cholesterol which causes heart disease and increases your body’s absorption of calories which leads to gaining weight.

Fun and Exercise. It is important that beside a day’s loads of work that you feel like would never end, you give yourself a little of fun activities or exercise. Well exercise does not necessarily mean going out to the gym and work out. Simple things that seems fun such as biking, skipping rope, jogging, walking are good to go.

As most of us know, health is wealth. So why not take care of our wealth!
