Splinter Cell: Conviction PC Needs a Lot of Fix

Due to convincing gameplay especially in coop, I decided to pre order the latest installment of Splinter Cell which is Conviction. I got it from Datablitz with a free large polo shirt as a pre order bonus.

I was so excited about the game to play with my friends even though I already beat the single player a week earlier in Xbox 360. I have no problem with the DRM Ubisoft implementedin the PC version, instead I encountered worst issues than the DRM itself.

First, I cannot use my wireless Xbox 360 controller. Why? The Xbox 360 button mapping is a mess! I thought it was on my end but after doing a little Googling yup I’m not alone. I do prefer the controller for this type of game.

Second and most important thing Ubisoft screwed up is the multiplayer/coop. Private match with a friend? Nope we can’t and we never connected even once. If you invite a friend, we always get same prompt. Matchmaking is also clunky playing with a stranger without a mic/chat support. How the hell can you communicate?

What makes me even furious is the crack/pirated version of Conviction works well in coop/multiplayer. Wow… amazing.

Imagine that guy is Ubisoft.

Oh well, I’m looking forward for Ubisoft to fix Splinter Cell: Conviction issues. It’s been a week and I won’t be surprise if these issues won’t be fix. It’s Ubisoft.

UPDATE: Ubisoft just released a 1.02 patch for Splinter Cell: Conviction. I downloaded it but haven’t give it a try. I saw the patch notes but it still didn’t include the voice/chat support for mutiplayer. I just hope the private match works now!

I find myself in a dilemma of cracking my original game just to have a good coop game. So far, I have resisted.

Add me: saintjordan if you feel like playing coop :)

    Hi there,

Just to let you know the patch doesn’t fix anything.

I managed to get this working by forwarding ports on my router to the pc I’m playing splinter cell on. Basically what they messed up is that you both have to be a “kind of” server.

you can find the ports to forward by googling, just thought you might like the step in the right direction. The reason the cracked multiplayer works more is because its mostly technical ppl that will get it working, and understand this problem.
